About Sanjoy Ghosh
Sanjoy has a place in the field of classical music. He was born and brought up in a musical family. His academic career at Calcutta Blind School and Scottish Church College was frequently interrupted on account of his eye troubles. However, he gave up his studies and concentrated on learning musical instruments. He received Sangeet Bisharad degree from Pracheen Kala Kendra.
His brilliance of music impressed violin maestro Padma Bibhushan Pt. V G Jog and he took him as one of his disciples. Sanjoy is not only a violin player, but he also plays Harmonium, Tabla, Flute, Sitar etc. He visited England during 1999 to 2004 and he imparted lessons on North Indian Classical music under the sponsorship of Lovers of Contemporary Music from Home and Abroad. He also visited Japan for giving his outstanding performance. And it is needless to say he pleased the audience abroad. Now he has been performing violin recital in Kolkata as well as different parts of India. His performance was also telecast over Akash Bangla TV channel of Kolkata.
Sanjoy represented Kolkata Port Trust (As an employee) in All India Major Ports Cultural Meet for more than a decade.
